Continuing Education

VCPA hosts regular meetings for our members, often including continuing education. These meetings provide the opportunity for professional development while earning CE credits. One of our goals is to ensure that members update and advance their skills such that the public shall benefit from the most current and effective standards of professional practice.

Join us for an in-person Law & Ethics CE event The goal of this course is to help MH professionals avoid legal and ethical pitfalls and the exposure to liability and discipline inherent in our work. Topics will include

(1) The standard of care and determining if it has been met;
(2) High conflict situations, license risks and how to avoid license complaints;
(3) How to terminate with difficult clients and minimize risks,
(4) Duty to warn,
(5) telehealth, social media, and texts,
(6) responding to subpoenas, board actions, cautionary tales and
(7) CANRA.
